A lot of skaters I know take them off simply because they like hearing their bearings, as well as the way they look without shields. Some claim they help them spin better, but others don't. I'd recommend keeping them on unless you want to buy bearings more often.

answer 2
Usually, the shields are removed from bearings when you clean them. There is a lot of information online as to how to clean your Bones Bearings Reds Bearings. Some riders will actually skate without the shields on the bearings. The claim is that the bearings spin better. But by doing this you take away the protection the shields provide and the bearings are more susceptible to dirt & debris.

Bearing spacers allow for proper alignment and spacing of your bearings. They are especially necessary when bearings are subjected to hard carving and sliding. The Bones Bearings Reds Bearings do not come with spacers, which are usually not necessary with most boards.

answer 2
No, the bones reds bearings do not come with spacers,

spacers are little cylinders that slide on to the truck and fit between the two bearings 'space' them apart each other so you don't tighten them to close to each other they also make them straight so the wheel are not all wobbly

but you don't need them for the bearings to work, they work just as well without them hence why bones doesn't sell them

Yes you can (actually some pros do), I have done it before with reds but it required smashing the bearing shield with a screwdriver till it broke. So idk if your willing to do that. Also don't take off both shields only one. Id defiantly try with bad bearings before you do it to good reds or something.

The best way to get the dirt from the Bones Bearings Reds Bearings is to use an air hose of some sort to actually 'blow' the debris away from the metal. If no tool is available for this technique, then you should be able to just wipe the bearings down with a clean cloth.

alright dude no joke, get some vegetable oil and put it in a cup, take out all your bearings, and put them in there, wipe all the dirt and stuff off with a spare rag or wipe it on the carpet or something first though. let em sit for like 12-24 hours, itll lubricate them and clean em. have fun!

answer 8
ABEC stands for Annular Bearing Engineers' Committee. This committee works to determine the standards for bearings. The ABEC scale classifies different accuracy and tolerance ranges for bearings. The ABEC does not really affect speed. Regardless of how fast you plan to go, speed is affected first and foremost by the choice of lubricant. Thus, even tho the Bones Bearings Reds Bearings indicate they are a high speed bearing, since the bearing is not ABEC rated, I would not know how to rate these nor what rating to compare them to.
