The Bones Bearings Swiss Ceramic Bearings are very durable and should hold up even when doing tricks. These bearings are in a class by themselves with the Cerbec® ceramic balls; which are much lighter, harder, stronger, and longer lasting than the finest steel balls.

The Bones Bearings Swiss Ceramic Bearings accelerate faster, roll faster and farther, have a high speed nylon ball retainer for greater strength and speed.

The length the bearings last in one spin varies on wheel size and speed/velocity of spin.

The Bones Bearings Swiss Ceramic Bearings lasting lifetime all depends on how they are used. For example, cruising vs. jumping down stairs. Bearings can last many years if maintained properly: kept away from moisture, oiled, and cleaned.

To clean the bearing, when you pop the shields off, you can wash the bearing of dirt inside of the bearing, since the shields don't protect it all. just most of it, I prefer keeping them off, because if you do, all the dirt that comes in, goes out.

It makes it easier to clean/oil your bearings. The draw back is no cover no protection, so now it can get dirt in the bearings quicker. So you have to make up your mind which way to go.
