No. The grip of the Plan B Prospec Griptape seems pretty decent to me. I guess it would depend on personal preference in the end, but I don't think you would be disappointed with the product.

The Plan B Prospec Griptape does have a perforated top sheet. So yes, there are holes in the griptape.
