It seems as if the men's PUMA Suede Classic shoe is shipped with the fatter shoelaces that are showing on the website plus a set of regular, thinner white laces.

In the end, it is an individual's personal preference as to whether a shoe is good for skating. Some may love the PUMA Suede Classic design for skateboarding because of the durable upper, yet some may find out they need more 'feel' from the outsoles. I would recommend checking out some consumers reviews to see if there are posts from skaters describing the performance of the shoe on a deck. This is probably the best way to see of the shoe is right for you.
