I got them for my second board for skating my local skatepark concrete bowl. They are fast, faster than I thought they would be. If you need some wheels for cheap...these are for you!
Pros: durable, good grip, great speed
Cons: limited terrain

 Element Water Dragon Pool Deck
Element Water Dragon Pool Deck
9 x 33 This board features the "Featherlight" construction which is the original 7 ply lay-up made with thinner veneers for less weight, but a deeper concave for added strength. These boards provide an unmatched lightweight feel.

Started back skating again and needed a old school deck(it's close to the early 90's shape when I skated) and took it to the local skatepark and it skates great!!! Only draw back is the wheel base is a liitle too long if you plan on skating anything other than a bowl.
Pros: great pop, great feel
Cons: limited terrain

are smaller wheels better than bigger wheels?

are small wheels for vert and big wheels are for street like long board wheels?
Small wheels are for street for pop. The large wheels are for vert. for speed. The large soft wheels are for cruiser boards

Bones Swiss Ceramics are in a class by themselves. If you want the best there is, this is it. The Cerbec® ceramic balls are much lighter, harder, stronger, and longer lasting than the finest steel balls. Resist dirt and moisture better. High speed nylon ball retainer for greater strength and speed. Skate Rated™ clearances, tolerances, materials and lubricant provide the best performance and durability possible. Set of 8 bearings. Imported.

how fast do the bearings go

I have these bearings and they are crazy fast. If you skate a park, these are what you want.

why do people pop the shields off?

is there a reason?
It makes it easier to clean/oil your bearings. The draw back is no cover no protection, so now it can get dirt in the bearings quicker. So you have to make up your mind which way to go.
